Cooking from the pantry- 7 Can Soup recipe

    +JMJ

    Dear family,

Many years ago, I made friends with a lady who was nearly 100!

She lived through the Great Depression and I learned so much from her!

Before anyone freaks out about using canned food, she had NO problem with it and lived almost 10 decades!

Anyhoo...my grocery bill for our large family has almost doubled!

Are times going to get better?

No, they will most definitely not be improving anytime soon!

Learn to cook from your pantry...and please consider a garden if you are able!

    7 Can Soup recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 can (15 ounces) corn kernels, drained
    • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), undrained
    • 1 can (15 ounces) chicken broth
    • 1 cooked chicken breast, shredded (or use canned chicken for convenience)
    • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced green onions, tortilla strips

    Instructions:

    1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine all the canned ingredients (undrained diced tomatoes, drained corn, drained black beans, drained kidney beans, drained pinto beans, undrained diced tomatoes with green chilies, and chicken broth).

    2. Stir well to mix all the ingredients together.

    3. Add the shredded cooked chicken breast to the pot and stir to incorporate.

    4. Place the pot over medium heat and bring the soup to a simmer.

    5. Let the soup simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together and the soup to thicken slightly.

    6. Once the soup is heated through and has reached your desired consistency, remove it from the heat.

    7. Serve the 7 Can Soup with Chicken hot, and top each serving with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, sliced green onions, and/or tortilla strips if desired.

This Chicken 7 Can Soup is a hearty and satisfying meal that's quick and easy to make. It's perfect for busy weeknights or when you need a comforting dish that can be assembled with pantry staples. Enjoy!

    ---HELP IF YOU CAN----

Here is a post, from a recipient of what we do,.

L**** and I were one of the precipitants of This mission. She is right. My parking was 9 per day for 3 months. Then on top of that food cost me approximately 15 per day. That was cheap - I got vouchers for $5.00 per meal. So somedays I did not eat or made meals last for more then one meal. Had to. Parking was $810. Food was $1,300. Then you have normal household bills and I have 3 animals I had to pay to have people come and take care of them. At first I had my dog in the Kennel for 1/2 the time. That was about 500. It is VERY expensive to have a sick child. That was Just ONE hospital stay. We have had numerous ones. Some only a few days, some a week or two. Without their help we would of gone fully under!

From providing necessary funds to actually having families stay with us...we DO what we say we do!
